I got the audio book this time and am loving this. Read by C.S.E. Cooney who does the fun Southern voices beautifully! Being from Tennessee and having lived in Georgia, I so enjoy hearing the sweet sound of southern polite sweetness.
This series is a delightful mystery with a mix of the culinary delights and charmed magic! Everything Ella Mae bakes is infused with her feelings causing those who eat her pies to respond with corresponding emotions. When she feels hope or joy people respond with exuberance. Lust has even more interesting consequences.
But, she has to deal with getting a divorce from her cheating husband which is why she comes home to Havenwood, GA to her family. There she opens a pie shoppe to the pleasure of all. But she is accused of murder of the fiance of her child hood nemesis and has to figure out who the real culprit is.
Amid the backdrop of southern Georgia, Horse Farms and her 3 aunts and mother who all have magical talents of their own, Ella Mae is led on a twisting path of mystery and deceit. Her former childhood crush is the now a fireman and he helps her some and confuses her even more. Her nemesis gives her threats and problems all the way through and she really has a challenge to solve the mystery!
