"Lethal in Old Lace" by Duffy Brown

Reagan is back and answering Boone's Proposal! She is over the moon happy for about 10 seconds before Aunt Kiki shows up to drag her to a funeral. Now Reagan is swearing no more stumbling over dead bodies and she would not get involved if she did. So of course that gets put to the test within minutes of her making such a declaration.

Between the funeral and Kiki stealing a Snickers bar from the dead Willie Fishbine in his coffin. This gets Kiki in trouble with Willie's namesake grandson who had promised his grandfather he would put one in the coffin for old Willie to have. He is positive granddaddy didn't die of asthma and has blackmailed Reagan and Kiki into investigating the truth for him.

Add in a new dead body, the sisters, Elsie and Annie Fritz being accused of the crime and a new player in town who seems to be wooing multiple women and Reagan is up to her ears in mystery. But this time Kiki gets involved by putting herself in the thick of things by pretending an injury to get a room at Sleepy Pines Retirement Home where Willie died.

Never a dull moment as Reagan, her momma the judge and Aunt Kiki all get involved in not just the mystery, but in planning a wedding for Reagan.

My only problem is I lived in Savannah way back and get homesick every time I read these books. LOL Okay, so not a problem so much as a feeling I got a tour of some of my favorite sites and teased by all the great food at the various eateries that Duffy fleshes out the stories with. I swear I am going to take a tour of Savannah soon and try every place she lists.

This is book 5 in the Consignment Shop Mystery series and I can not wait for book 6! Get your copy today and prepare for one rollicking good mystery!
