Fun read... more to come. This is a placer as I am putting this up from my phone. The first 3books came as a box set, so going to review them as such. Plus I am adding in the other 3 books. So 1 blog, 6 books in the Happy Tails Dog Walking Mysteries! And here we go:
So, I really enjoyed these books, but I found some strange typos that caused my slightly lower rating. Any good proofreader should have caught these before the book was published. Even e-publishing should be carefully proofed. They were glaring enough that I highlighted and then corrected each misused word with definitions to show why the word did not fit the sentence.
Other than that, the books are light and fun to read. Olivia has some serious commitment issues. And the lengths she goes to hold off changes that inevitably happen in life are a bit hysterical. But her level of panic over a proposal from her boyfriend actually was a bit ridiculous in some ways. He was the paragon of patience and virtue with her.
The mystery was just intriguing enough to keep you guessing without too many red herring clues. I do like how Olivia starts out trying to act like the heroine in her favorite mystery books and slowly realizes that real life doesn't work out that easily.
And of course my major love in the books is her dog, Goodwin, who is joined by Fender, a Basset Hound by the end of the book.
Does Andrew ever get his proposal out? Will Olivia say yes? And who the heck did kill Yvette, the Coffee Truck lady? And finally is Lady Celeste a real psychic or just a lovable crazy lady?
Olivia accepted Andrew's proposal, but now she has gone a bit crazy with wedding preparations. So crazy, Andrew is seriously worried that she is second guessing her decision to marry him. Then her wedding planner is murdered and she throws herself into figuring out the murder because no one else will help her finish planning her wedding and all the vendors are backing out thinking she is cursed.
Her sister, Janelle, is having trouble pinning her down to sign on the brownstone and is being strangely distant when it comes to helping with the wedding. And Lady Celeste keeps giving Olivia cryptic messages about a brides curse!
