Lorna Barrett Booktown Mysteries, Bookmarked for Death (book 2)
Book 2 takes up the story just months after "Murder is Binding" ends. Tricia is dating Russ, the owner of Booktown's weekly newspaper. Her sister has bought and runs the Cookery next door to her Mystery Bookstore, Haven't Got a Clue. And Angelica is having trouble with her help sticking with her. Tricia is sure it's because Angelica has no clue how to be a boss and it too much of a taskmaster.
The story opens with a guest author doing a book signing at Haven't Got a Clue, and while there is a good turn out for this Author, Tricia is finding her a bit less than what she expected. And her assistant is abrasive and quickly offends several of the people there to meet the author and get their books signed.
When the author turns up dead in the bathroom of the bookstore, and Tricia has to deal with Sheriff Adams again, things are not looking good. Of course the Sheriff is still holding a grudge with Tricia from the last murder in town and tries to close down the bookstore and pin another murder on Tricia. If Tricia doesn't take the investigation into her own hands she may never get her store open and her sister will cost her Ginny and Mr. Everett by antagonizing them as they help out at the Cookery while Haven't Got a Clue is closed for the investigation.
Of course there are some wonderful twists and turns in the plot, and Tricia has some big hurdles to overcome in her efforts to get her store opened back up and a murderer caught. Another winning read from the talented mind of Lorna Barrett. To get a copy of this book follow this Amazon link!
