Lorna Barrett's Booktown Mystery, Book 9, "A Fatal Chapter
A Fatal Chapter is the 9th installment in the Booktown Mystery series. Tricia is volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce and living upstairs in the small living quarters housed there. She is still waiting for her store and building to be restored after the fire six months ago. But the insurance still hasn't settled. Angelica is totally rocking her being president of the Chamber and is helping her sister by employing Mr Everett and Pixie Poe at her other businesses, The Cookery and Booked for Lunch. Tricia is grateful, yet anxious to get back to her life before the fire.
Once again, Tricia finds someone fatally injured, she thinks he is having a heart attack, and calls 911. Regretfully, Pete Renquist dies after they get him to the hospital. And it turns out it was not natural causes. Tricia can't help but get involved in the investigation. And there is the little matter of someone is stealing the flowers from the hanging baskets down main street to deal with too. So much to figure out and all while dealing with both her ex-husband, Christopher, and ex-boyfriend, Grant Baker, both not taking "NO" for an answer.
This is such a wonderful series. But this book hits home for me with the revelations, emotions and even the tragedies. I love how Lorna Barrett manages to tie everything together and even in sadness shows such quiet moments of joy!
I hope you all love this book and series as much as I am! to find A Fatal Chapter go here!
